After two years of COVID-19 crisis, the port city of Burgas will finally welcome the European Wushu Championships, postponed several times because of the health restrictions. The event will be held from May 12 through 15 at the Mladost Sports Hall which has been inspected by an official delegation from the European Wushu Federation (EUWUF), the organizers said on Sunday.

EUWUF Vice President Abdurrahman Akyuz has arrived in Burgas and was welcomed by Bulgarian Wushu Federation President Stefan Kolev. He is accompanied by a delegation including leading coaches and engineers who presented an innovative evaluation system for the athletes.

Burgas has already been the host of the largest world Wushu fora outside of Asia – the 6th World Junior Wushu Championships in 2016 and the World Taijiquan Championships in 2018.
